Termites are social insects that play an important role in nutrient turnover in nature. Campus IPB Dramaga is one location that has a variety of habitat types. The purpose of this study was to determine the diversity and abundance of termite species in Dramaga-Bogor IPB Campus. The method used is collecting termites by installs pine bait, transect with area 10 x 10 m, and counting index of diversity and abundance. Six spesies termites collected from the field found 6 species that are divided into two families i.e. Termitidae (Macrotermes gilvus, Odontotermes javanicus, Microtermes insperatus, and Capritermes mohri) and Rhinotetmitidae (Schedorhinotermes javanicus and Coptotermes curvignathus). Shannon-Wienner diversity index (H) and Simpson abundance index (D) obtained the highest value in the type of REK (Field Trial of Rectorate IPB) that are 1.7 and 0.8 respectivelly. The number of species (S) and species richness (E) have the same relation as the H and D indexes.
The more termite colonies are found with the diversity of different species, the resulting index value will be higher as well. The termite species depicted in NMDS (stress 0.00435) with P-value obtained 0.000831 (alpha 5%) showed that the settlement and plantation area in the Dramaga IPB campus area had a distinctly different species of termite composition.
